Locator retained, 2-implant supported removable denture

Locator retained, 2-implant supported removable denture

2 implants + 2 locators + premium quality denture → Happiness

Nowadays, the most simple way to treat complete tooth loss are two-implant retained or ball-retained dentures. They offer a similar solution to the previously mentioned bar-retained denture - however, this method is applicable even when there’s less amount of bone.

When is it appropriate to apply this solution?

If the atrophy of the jawbone is more advanced, the patient is limitedly suitable (only after many supplementary bone graft surgeries), or not suitable at all for having a completely fixed denture (circular bridge).

In such a case, we always suggest to have an implant-supported, removable denture. Most commonly, the need for implant-based, locator-stabilised prosthesis arises during the treatment of the lower jawbone’s toothlessness.

Following the insertion of the two implants, the most simple way is to apply the locators (or ball attachments) and place their companion pieces inside the metal-reinforced denture.

Whether it’s the locator or it’s the ball attachment, their principle of operation is similar to the snap fasteners: when the denture is placed in the mouth and pushed on the locator / ball attachment, it is already fixed and firmly holds the denture in place.

The two-implant version can be exclusively applied for the lower jaw.

With this cost-effective solution you can safely eat, bite or speak - your denture won’t slide forward from its place. However, the rear part of the prosthesis might still lift off the gums, but nevertheless it offers a much better quality of life than its unfixed, removable ‘mates’.

How much does this type of denture cost?

With the help of our implantation package, you'll be able to find your way in the world of dentistry price lists. It's important for us to give you correct information and a clear picture!

As it’s true in the other areas of life, the cheapest is not the best - it’s worth to choose a higher quality product, given that we wear it (eat and laugh with it) every day.

What is good in an implant-retained, removal denture?

  • It offers a long-lasting, enduring solution
  • It restores the stable chewing function
  • The removable denture is kept in place by special fasteners, thus it’s not necessary to use denture adhesives
  • Lost gums can be replaced by pink-coloured artificial ones (available as an aesthetic solution)
  • It’s really easy to clean
  • Usually, the process doesn’t need bone graft surgery - thus, it can be used cost-effectively in case of those patients who wore their dentures for a longer period of time
  • No matter what the damage is, the denture is always easy to repair
  • You can wear it 24 hours a day, even during sleeping.

The importance of cleaning

Although you can wear this type of denture 24 hours a day, the prosthesis needs to be taken out from your mouth twice a day (during brushing) and you should clean them thoroughly, including the fasteners in your mouth (ball heads, bars, locators, etc.) as if they were your natural teeth.
