There are multiple solutions to treat complete tooth loss. There’s a ‘golden middle way’ between the classic removable dentures and the permanently fixed prostheses. One of the commonly used versions is the bar-retained denture which is a prosthesis that is removable - even though it lies on implants. In order to make the denture, we need to insert 4 implants.

These implants are placed in the lower or upper jaw and linked together with metal bars that provide stability for the denture.

What’s the price of a denture like this?

The above mentioned price refers to a single jaw and includes 4 SGS implants. The final denture represents the premium quality suggested by our dental technician - we’ll make no compromises in this, for your own good. How is this removable denture fixed?

The denture securely locks on these bars since it has the ‘negative’ component of the structure with stability-improving rubber inserts inside. The two elements slide (clasp) into each other which locks the denture in place.

The major advantage of this solution is the fact that it resembles to a removable bridge, except that it is firmly fixed because of the metal bars. Thus, the denture is easy to clean and can be applied even with a larger bone loss.

Typically, the rubber inserts need to be replaced every 2-3 years.

An additional benefit: should the denture be damaged in any way, the repair can be done quickly and easily.

Why is it better than the normal removable denture?

Wearing a bar-retained denture can’t be compared to the normal ones that are not fixed in place. However, this structure has all the benefits arising from the simplicity of the traditional ones.

The advantages of implants and supporting bars

The denture can be placed on the implant bars (the two components fit as if a rider would be sitting in its saddle). Thus, there’s no need to use any additional denture attachment tools, such as denture adhesives.
