Intraoral digital impression scanning

Planmeca PlanScan scanner is a digital impression scanner for CAD/CAM of dental restorations intended for dental offices.

You had a bad experience about impression taking but you would like a crown, bridge or inlay-onlay? We have the solution for digital 3D impressions!

It's difficult for many patients to take/remove the imprint necessary for a crown, bridge, or insert. Even with the dentist's greatest care, patients with more reactive pharyngeal reflexes can experience vomiting during impression. Among other things, our new digital intraoral scanner prevents this inconvenience which eliminates the need for traditional dental imprinting. This results in more accurate 3D-digital imagery to be directly useable for our dental lab partners.

The advantages of using the Planmeca Planscan

  • Comfortable to use, do not causes pharynx reflex
  • the digital scan do not require using gooey impression materials
  • precise, accurate and fast (this is one of the most precise sextant scanner)
  • easy to correct the digital plan of the restoration
  • immediately visible on a chairside notebook
  • can be sent directly to our dental lab partner, which is speeding up the process for the sake of the Patient
  • there is no extra fee for the digital scan

In which restorations can this digital way of impression-taking be effectively used?

  • in case of preparing bridges, no matter which material is used to making the in-lab restorations (PFM, zirconium, e.max)
  • inlays, onlays for the even more precise results

The process of digital imprinting

Our impressionist dentist directs the camera intraorally along the surface of the tooth. Meanwhile, the intraoral scanner takes thousands of photos of the teeth location, which are mounted with the aid of the required software, and the patient's teeth and dentition are visible on a monitor continuously. Subsequently, on the basis of a digital imprint, the dental prosthetic maker/dental lab uses CAD / CAM to make a crown, inlay/onlay or, in the case of a multi-component replacement, the bridge.

We believe it is important to introduce digital technology into our practice!
